Never ending battle

The admiration I have for Hillary is mixed between her gutsy and never ending challenges and her inability to see the end when it's hitting her in the face.  Her decidedly dogged approach to this election, albeit worthy of the Rocky award has been marred by her incapacity to read the proverbial tea leaves that scream defeat.

I can't imagine her staying with the hope of winning when the odds are staked against her in such a profound way that in every instance of the election she is behind and losing ground.  The rumors may be true, she has something, or she knows something that will flatten the Obama bubble in one fell swoop.  It's gotta be big and strong enough to overcome the "black" vote, who incidentally are voting on a racist platform that is just as bigoted as any group voting for that group just because they are of that group.

Do you think the Reverend Wright issue was bad?  Obama blinked a few times but that was it.  How about the other guy, the home grown terrorist, the one who would have liked to use more bombs?  Obama didn't even sweat that one.  And how about the criminal element, you know the guy who hired him for legal fees?  I've forgotten his name too.

Whatever Hillary has, or she hopes she has, must be better then what's been used to derail Obama because its seems to me that if the above had no effect then its quite possible that nothing will make a difference, especially to those who will vote for him no matter what.  Does OJ ring a bell?

Poor Hillary, she can speak and rally, travel and advertise, raise millions, well in her case hundreds, and all she will get out of all that effort is a pat on the back for trying sooo hard.  Forget the fact that she is more qualified, less a risk, and less controversial, and oh lets not forget more able to rally the mainstream of America away from McCain.

Obama may get the black vote now but when the general election comes and mainstream America has to choose the racist, bigoted, homophobic, Anglo Saxon republicans and closet democrats (who have done nothing to really help the African American population), will rise to the occasion and expose the political "impostor" and force him back to the proverbial plantation.

The only chance the Democrats have for real reform and the only chance the African Americans have for real reform is for Hillary to pull the rabbit out of her brightly colored hat.

Global Warming Gamble

Al Gore is at it again.  The devastation of Myanmar is his newest war cry against a warming planet.  Despite the news that the ice over the poles in increasing and has done so over the past two years.  (keep in mind that the last few years the ice melted and its now come back again)

The political expediency of his comments are very disturbing and opportunistic to say the least.  The ridiculous claims of increasing disasters caused by carbon build up is nothing more then a scare tactic to raise our taxes and remove what few freedoms we have left.

let's be logical, and please follow closely:  The major reason for global warming has nothing to do with this planet.  The sun is the major contributor of heat and for the past two decades the sun's spot activity have been more erratic, causing more fluctuations in the Earths warming and cooling patterns.

Hello?  Is anyone listening?  Its the SUN Stupid.

Number two on the list of reasons why the earth temperatures fluctuate is the oceans.  3/4 of the world is covered with Water and that water is heated or cooled due to its exposure to the sun, not our use of carbon emitting substances.  The oceans warm and cool despite what we puny humans do.

The Chilean volcano erupted more carbon emissions into the air in once day then all the cars and factories have done in over 50 years.  Wake up folks, Al Gore is selling us a small piece of swamp land and is calling it Park avenue.  He wants nothing from us but total obedience and acquiescence.  More taxes, less freedom to chose and more obligations toward his idea of life and liberty....Wake up..

Whiners no Winners

When it's all said and done who will be the real looser? Will it be Hillary for not being allowed to count the delegates from Michigan or Florida?  Will it be Obama for having to run with the obvious stain of association on his record?  Or will it be the people for having to endure the lies, deception, and the demeaning platitudes of promise?

In the end we will all loose because of the manner in which this campaign has been managed.  We will all loose the freedom to really choose and voice our opinion.  Hillary has to be a little upset at the way things could have turned out, if as she has stated the Democrats would have followed the rules like the Republicans. Obama is upset at the length of this campaign and the level of vehemence toward him by both is own party and the Republicans (more so from his own party).  And again the big loser's, as always are the American public who has to endure the election of a substandard candidate, a tarnished and used option, covered with the filth of their past and past decisions of association and policy.

Should Hillary step down?  She seems to think she can still win but the reality is that even if she does win, what does she get out it?  The Republicans will surely take full advantage of this primary process; their talking points have been made for them through the vicious infighting.  McCain has very little to do to win, all he has to do is replay what was already said and the majority of American's will flock to his side.

If Barrack steps down then the one hope of Black America is dashed and may not rise again for another generation.  They are upset at the innuendo of his stealing the campaign because of the loss of two pivotal states and the effect his past associations will have on the general election.

They are in the mode of electing Obama, regardless of what he's done.  The Simpson scenario is alive and well.  It doesn't matter who he is or what he is as long as he's black and liberal, if they don't get their chance, they will feel robbed.

We all lose this time around.  Republican, Democrat, Independent, male, female etc...There will be no winners only whiners for not getting what they want, despite what America needs.

Professionally Screwed

I hate to whip a dead horse (no connection to the Derby) but I don't know how to get this message through.  There is no difference between the candidates, so why all the rhetoric about who should win and who will be best to beat McCain?

If it weren't for the obvious skin color differences and to some degree the gender gap Both Obama and Clinton could be identical twins.  Their policies are virtually identical with only very minor administrative differences.  Their talking points seem to be written by the same writers and their goals for the country are the same.  Put into the mix the ideas of McCain and you have a scary threesome that would make any sex crazed priest cringe.

What I don't understand is how some can be so adamant about Obama and then others just as obdurate about Clinton.  McCain, although a Republican has shown from past decisions to be more of the same and more like a Democrat then what he is currently spouting.

The solution to the entire debate is a very simple one and one that would allow America to save millions of dollars and months of time having to endure the endless, monotonous droning is to let them choose a number.  The one with the number closest to the prior chosen number is the winner.

Or roll the dice, or horse shoes might work.  Anything to save us from the months of pathetic speechifying  and pontification, please spare us, let us move on and let the winner get started screwing us so we can stop the speculation as to how were going to be screwed.   I think we can all agree that whoever gets elected the screwing will be hard and often.  If we get through this quickly then perhaps I can take a little time to think about the type of protection that I will assuredly need.

Educational woes

One of the most profound obstacle's facing our youth in relation to education is the prevailing theory of teaching as it relates to learning.  Most believe that the two are mutually connected; teaching is learning and learning is a result of teaching.  When the two are separated however the reality of our current educational system comes to light.  Teaching is not working.  Currently schools are faced with a growing number of problems that directly relate to their inability to secure and educate the populace.  Problems like violence and drop out rates show little change despite the massive increases in spending.  In 2003, 21 percent of students ages 12-18 reported that street gangs were present at their schools.   Drop out rates are not improving nor are the rates of literacy. Less then 70% of all students in public high schools graduate, (minority graduation rates are even more abysmal), and only 32% of all students leave high school qualified to attend four-year colleges, as reported by the Manhattan institute for policy research.
When taken in context with increased standards and world educational levels the trend is getting worse not better despite what local districts say or what state officials proclaim during re-election speeches.  Greater needs within our workplaces, more technical requirements for more menial jobs require more advanced understanding of basic principles, raising the bar of what used to be called learning. Teaching, as it has been promoted and funded is not working and the system of teaching has failed to educate our children at acceptable levels.  A new system needs to be adopted and since learning is the goal perhaps a system of learning should be developed.

It's Not Too Late....

I implore all of you who have made up their minds to rethink their position and look at the reality of what is really happening to our country.  Let's look at the situation with a little clarity and bit more logic then we have been doing, let's take the emotion out of the equation and move toward rational thought and action.

Of the three candidates, not one is without serious issues.  Not one has a clear mandate to lead our country.  Beyond the simple Democrat or Republican issue, which of the three is really situated to be a true leader?  Is McCain the man of the hour, the person ready to take the reigns and guide us in a new direction?  Is Hillary the woman that we should be clamoring to support?  Or is Obama the great hope for America?  The answer is NO.  Not one of these self proclaimed saviors fits the bill of even a lack luster leader.  Why are we so anxious to elect the most mediocre and the least prepared?

A true leader brings the people together and creates common ground while caressing the differences toward his or hers ideals and goals.  The three we have to choose from are all reactionary in their approaches and offer nothing in the way of leadership.  There is no vision, there is no honesty and there is no integrity.  The blame for this falls directly on our shoulders and our inability to stand up for what is best for us.  We would rather associate with the average perhaps it makes us feel superior.  But with the average comes the mediocre and with the mediocre comes the inability to move beyond with creative and effective solutions.

We need to be searching and promoting a LEADER not just someone who wants the Job.  Hell I want the Job, but that does not qualify me to lead.  I'm so tired of the excuses of so many that promote Hillary or Obama or McCain with the empty platitudes of change.  Nothing will change with these three; nothing will be accomplished but a continuation of the same.  Perhaps it is time for a third party option but then again only if that option contains a "real" leader, someone who most Americans can support.

Leaders, what leaders?

How can any of us vote for any of the present candidates?  They are universally corrupt and riding the sleaze express right into our back pockets.  Their politics don't really matter, the outcome is the same; they are there to take what we have earned and to spend what we have on frivolous programs that neither help nor build our economy.

Our current crop of candidates should be tilled deep within the soil and fumigated and allowed to lay fallow for the rest of their natural lives.  Does any one of them really have our best interest at heart?  Do any of them really have the interests of America at heart?  The answer is a resounding NO.  They want the power, the prestige and the ability to put on their resume "president of the United States of America"  allowing them to garner huge fees for speeches around the world.  Their desire of power is nothing more then a cry for help.  They are not ready for the duties nor are they ready for the responsibilities of governing this, the most powerful nation in the history of mankind (womankind) for those of the Wiccan persuasion.

These are the best we have?  How depressing is that?  We are about to elect a person to preside over us in every aspect of our lives that has no real experience in the world that the rest of us must survive.  Not one of the candidates has ever had a real job, dealt with a home budget or had to save to eat.  Not one of the candidates has ever lived out side of government theory and has no idea what it means to have to pay taxes, make the mortgage,  go to the grocery store or any of a thousand other mundane but essential activities the rest of us have to deal with.  How can these candidates represent us if they don't really know who or what we are?

I think its time to find someone else.  Any suggestions?

The Almighty Reverend Wright

Reverend Wright has proclaimed a massive gap of misunderstanding between the Christian cultures of America and called for unification and reparation.  Clearly stated by the Reverend Wright were the differing views of God and how our perceptions of the Almighty differ based on the position of our view?

Within our finite existence our view of God cannot be completely understood nor comprehended in such a way to create a meaningful unification if the basis of our belief is primarily the object of our view.  God is so much more that what we can perceive and any attempts at unification based on our limited sight will surely fail.  Unification is a process of acceptance of who we are as individuals and as children of God and has little or nothing to do with what we think God is.

The Reverend Wright called for America to work towards reparations and hoped that our government would apologize for past deeds.  However heinous those crimes of the past the Christian message is to forgive those who have trespassed against us and not demand repentance of those who have done wrong.  He has called for America, white America to fall to their knees in humble supplication and ask black America to negotiate that forgiveness, but he has forgotten the basis of Christianity, forgiveness comes from within; it is not forced nor mandated.

The solution to the racial divide is for those who have been wronged to first forgive and love those who wronged.  The Christian way is very simple and plain and has no place for forced reparations.  God forgives whom He will forgive...but for man we are commanded to forgive all.

Reverend Wright has it backwards.  He has forgotten the principle of peace that motivates man toward forgiveness.    White America, in the past did wrong; there is no denying the facts of history.  But that white America does not exist in today's multi-cultural society.  There are racist individuals but we are not a racist country.  America is the most tolerant, free and forgiving culture of all time and its time for Reverend Wright to open his eyes and look to God for guidance.
